Where Truth and Love in Christ make a difference
Trinity Lutheran Church
Ready, set…confirmation! Now that we have your attention, we want to share with you some important information as we gear up for classes to begin.
Confirmation at TLC is a three-year faith journey where our youth learn the basis of our Christian faith in the Lutheran tradition. Over these years, youth study the 10 Commandments, Apostle’s Creed, Lord’s Prayer, and dig deeper into the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism using the teachings in the Small Catechism. In addition, students learn about Martin Luther and the Old and New Testaments. Confirmation is a time for our youth to explore their faith and (hopefully) find answers to their questions and/or struggles about their faith. It’s also a time for them to learn what it is to live in and among a community of believers through prayer, worship, service and fellowship. It’s a place where youth are nurtured and all are welcome. Youth typically begin confirmation in their 6th grade year, but can begin later due to a variety of circumstances.
Confirmation kick-off for parents and students (new and returning) will be held Sunday, September 24,
from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The evening will consist of food, fun and fellowship. Parents will have an informational meeting with Pastor Chris and Karen Wood while the youth play games and get to know each other. After the meeting and games we’ll all gather in the main Sunday School room to wrap up our evening. All parents should have received an email (from firstname.lastname@example.org) containing information about the kick off. Parents of returning students were asked to call the church office to let us know how many will be coming to the kickoff. Parents of new students were asked to reply to the email. If you did not receive an email, please contact Karen Wood at 570-985-7524. We want to make sure everyone has this information.
Thanks! Karen Wood
