Where Truth and Love in Christ make a difference

Trinity Lutheran Church

Last year we were able to make a difference in our community by providing personal care kits to the homeless shelter and beefing up Trinity's food pantry through our service project.  The support we had from the congregation through donations of items for the kits, monetary donations, the many hands of the volunteers who assembled the kits, and also the help of a Thrivent Action Plan, enabled us to have a successful Day of Service in 2016.

This year the Stewardship and Evangelism Committee has decided to turn our efforts to seniors living in nursing home or personal care facilities.

We will be collecting items to donate to these facilities for the residents.  We are working with the Activities Directors to provide needed items to the residents in these homes.

Suggestions from the Activities Directors are:

      *  Small Bingo and raffle prizes such as costume jewelry, small trinkets, small stuffed animals

      *  Puzzle books, especially word search

      *  Small packets of tissues

      *  Lip balm

      *  Adult coloring books and colored markets or pencils

      *  Body wash for men and women

      *  Note pads

      *  All occasion greeting cards

      *  Pens

      * Small change purses

      * Silky scarves

      *  Aftershave & toiletries

We need your help again this year to make this project a success.  Drop off any donations before worship service or at the church office during the week.  Join us on September 10th after the 11 o'clock service for a light lunch before we sort, assemble and deliver boxes for each facility.

God Work Our Hands Day of Service is a special time for us to give back something of the many  blessings we receive.
